Harness

This is the type of outfit I end up putting on when I can’t really be bothered to be creative.  The red shirt is Vintage, and the shorts are Primark.
I didn’t think I would be bringing out my tights anytime soon but here they are... it doesn’t look like we are going to have much of a summer this year L
The boots are from a Swedish online shop called Modekungen. They are similar to the balenciaga harness boots that I have been obsessing over ever since I saw them on the Olsen twins.
Check out their site here.... I’m in desperate need of their sword earrings and hand chain.
Anyway short and sweet today as I’m off to London J

Little White Dress

I loved this dress from Boohoo so much I got it in white and black. It’s simple yet slightly different and can be dressed up or down in so many ways. I plan to wear this out in the evening with heels and during the day with flat army boots. It’s a jersey dress that has been tied into a knot at the front, making it into a short dress with a bit twist.
The jacket is from Miss Selfridge its leather with fabric inserts and sleeves. I love the stitching details down the sides as well J reminiscent of the Burberry Prorsum Leather Jacket, seen here.
The shoes are my beloved Julian Louie Wedges from Aldo. The necklace I made myself with bits and bobs I picked up from Hobby Craft, vintage markets and charity shops.
My hair is a bit different in this post I thought I would mix it up and do my parting in the middle. I have noticed that I very rarely do anything remotely different or interesting my hair at all..... I’m in a major hair styling rut, it’s definitely something I’m working on as some people can change their entire look with a hair style. I love these styles posted by Oracle Fox.
Happy Tuesday

Skulls and Crosses

It’s sunny and it’s the weekend because of that ... I’m in the best mood ever! This is what I wore a while ago to a little gathering with my college friends.
I'm wearing my DIY shorts from the post before, a shirt from New Look and a skull print vest I got when I went to Canada.
The little metal bag is a new treasure of mine, I really do love it... and it was in the sale at River Island. I don’t think it’s that practical as I can only just about fit my phone, ID and money in there, but I think it will be ok for going out in the evenings.
Do you ever find that you buy something knowing that it’s not that practical just because you really love it??
The shoes are Jeffrey Campbell Tardy’s (I can’t seem to take them off my feet) and the jewellery is all from various markets.
Hope eveyone is having a great weekend J

DIY Studded Shorts

After seeing pairs of customised shorts on the blogosphere I decided to have a ago at making my own pair of vintage Levi’s unique.
I bought these shorts on EBay for £14, I cut the bottoms off and frayed them to give a distressed "worn in" look. To take them to the next level, making them more than just a pair of cut offs, I bought some pyramid studs from Studs and Punks.
I decided to put the studs in a cross shape on the back pocket. It was my first time studding clothes so I wanted to do a small simple shape.

Ok so first I got together: My shorts, 24 studs, chalk, a ruler and a screw driver. I then drew a line down the middle of the pocket I wanted to stud to make sure my cross was not wonky, using the chalk and a ruler.

Ok so there’s a bit of a continuity issue in this picture as the chalk line hasn’t yet been drawn, but looking back I would have marked out the middle of the pocket first and then planned the exact positioning of the cross like in the picture above.

This set of three pictures shows how you simply attach the stud to the pocket. 1. You position the stud and push through the two points 2. The points will poke through the fabric, this is when I put my hand inside the pocket and turned the pocket inside out so I could just see the points of the stud 3. I then got a screwdriver and bent both points inwards to secure the stud.

Here I am putting the last stud into place to create my cross shape. The studding process was quite fiddly and for a design this size took about 45mins from start to finish.... but it was my first time and I get easily bored... so I think I did ok!

The final product ... a customised pair of shorts! I have found some similar to this on EBay for £55 so doing it yourself works out much cheaper J
Hope you like my DIY J

Crochet and Leather

hello to my new and old followers J I want to let you all know how happy you make me feel, I love reading your comments and I’m so pleased that you take the time to read my little blog. Thank you J
The weather in England is going insane ... really heavy rain one minute, glorious sunshine the next. I was lucky to snap these pictures one morning before the grey clouds rolled in!
The dress is a crochet maxi from the Miss Selfridge sale, it didn’t come with a slip underneath so yet again I had to search around for something in my wardrobe to wear underneath, I think it worked out quite well and the off white mini makes the look nice and summery J
The headband is one of my favourites from Forever 21, normally I can’t wear head bands, they slip of my strange shaped head and end up just annoying me, but this one is great. The little leather vest is from Primark a while back and was about £5 (I couldn’t believe my luck).
The boots are new to my wardrobe J After seeing them, wanting them and a month of saving, they are now mine! They are so similar to the Chloe Fall 2007 Doc Martin-like clumpy boots its crazy. And again J Campbell has produced a really high shoe that is comfortable... which I’m sure is the root of my obsession with his shoes.

Market Finds

As promised these are my finds from Turkey. There was so much jewellery there it was insane and it was all very well priced J I had to have something to put all my new purchases in so the boy bought me this lovely silver box when we visited one of the Turkish Markets.
The triangle box is from Hobby Craft and the Deer Skull is from an old art project, but now i find  they are perfect for displaying jewellery.
Some of my favourite pieces are the amethyst crystal ring, the silver long ring, the silver coin dangly earrings and the tiny skull earrings (although they are a tad creepy).
Hope you like J

Native Heart

You don’t know how ecstatic I was when I came back from holiday to find these shorts waiting for me. I was sent them by Native Heart Vintage a lovely website where you can actually customise and choose how and what you want on your shorts!!! I had the hard choice of deciding between the multitude of different combinations... Acid wash, Ombre, American Flag, Pyramid studs, Dome studs ... If I could I would have had them all.
I finally chose the acid wash distressed shorts; I really felt they would go with almost everything in my wardrobe. When they arrived with a hand written note and beautifully wrapped it made me love them even more. Check out their site here.
 So unique.
I’m wearing my new favourite shorts with a Gok Corset. Ok so it’s technically shape wear ... but I love the little corset/ bodies that are around at the moment, sadly I have found it very hard to find one that fits my chest, this is simple enough to sort of work the “underwear as outer wear” look.
The paisley kimono was a find from Boohoo.... as I have said before they do surprise me sometimes and have some lovely pieces.
The shoes are Jeffrey Campbell Gypsy Clogs, I have wanted a pair ever since I saw them on Madeline from Jean Greige (I find her very inspiring and her jewellery is insane!). I scoured the internet for AGES before I finally found them on EBay of all places. They remind me of my Barbie’s shoes when I was younger- they make your foot look so cute!
